Adult Bible School

In PJEFC we recognize that holistic teaching and training is vital to spiritual growth and empowerment for service. The Adult Bible School (ABS) has a mission and it is “To prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up." (Ephesians 4:12)

To do this the ABS offers courses, each trimester, covering one or more of the following areas:

  1. Biblical Studies: Understanding our Bible
  2. Christian Thought: Understanding our beliefs and heritage
  3. Christian Formation: Applying faith to life and growth
  4. Christian Ministry: Applying faith to service

One of the philosophies of ministry that the ABS operates from is that Biblical and theological foundations are crucial if Christians are to grow to maturity in Christ. But this knowledge must find visible expression in transformed lives and Christian service.

Secondly, we also believe that growth is a process. In order to help members see where they are in their spiritual journey and to encourage them to keep moving on we have put the basic courses into a GROWTH TRACK. In PJEFC we desire to see members move on to maturity, and on to ministry and eventually to missions; and always centred around the magnification of Christ.

Classes are usually held on Sundays from 11.15am to 12.30pm, but where more time is needed classes may be scheduled for Saturdays at a time most suited to the participants.

Don’t let the opportunity to learn and grow; to be trained and empowered slip through your fingers.
