I don’t think it has ever happened before in PJEFC, certainly not in my own experience, when we ran three weekend camps almost back to back. It wasn’t as easy as it may have appeared—duplicating (or, “triplicating”) what was done at Camp 1. Some things may be replicated but not all—and of course, the effort had to be doubled (and tripled).
Nonetheless, they have been worth the while.
We have not processed all the evaluation forms (“Thank You” for giving us your feedback), but from what we have looked at so far, and also from what people have said to us personally, I believe many were quite happy that they went for the Zone Camps.
I believe we accomplished the three objectives of renewal, regrouping and realigning. In all the three Zone Camps we experienced the overwhelming presence of the Lord (notwithstanding that there were times when things were somewhat heavy going). When the presence and power of the Lord came, many received freedom, renewal and spiritual breakthroughs.
One of things that the participants gave top points for was the fellowship. People appreciated the opportunities for bonding and for getting to know others new to them. Many enjoyed the bonding activities and the interactive discussions during the sessions. All this helped in regrouping us so that we feel that we want to be a part of this body here in PJEFC to fulfil God’s destiny for the church.
However, regrouping is not just about bonding; it’s about all of us, together, realigning ourselves to the purpose of God for PJEFC. We heard about the new wine that the Lord wants to pour into the church, and the new wineskins that the Lord wants us to prepare so that we will be able to receive and contain the new wine. When in place, I believe, the new wine and the new wineskins will move the church into its next phase.
I am quite excited about our future, and I hope you are too. I believe if we can now step out together in faith and obedience we will see a new move of God that is going to surprise us.
Keep believing; keep praying.
I want to express my thanks to the church staff for an excellent job in organising the Zone Camps. I need to say it again: having them back to back required a lot of organising and stamina. Top on the list for our “Thank You’s” must go to Lai Sheong and Chee Seng, the two main people responsible for organising the camps. The other church staff also played major roles—pardon me if I don’t mention their names—but “Thank You. You did great.” Church, can you please show your appreciation to them.
However, I do need to mention the volunteers; especially those who carried out the children’s programme so that parents could fully concentrate at the main sessions. A big “Thank You” to Siew Ling, who drew up the children’s programme, and to Doris Ang, Chai Hoon, Joyce Hooi, Kerry Lee, Daniel and David Tham for their labour of love. Going the extra mile Lai Sheong and Pr Aaron Tham also doubled up to help in the children’s ministry during the third camp.
A big “Thank You” to Daniel Loh, for his very creative bonding activities that we enjoyed so much. Our appreciation to also to those who helped with registration, room allocation, transport arrangements and the worship. What would we do without you?
Then there were the intercessors; without whom the camps would not have turned out as well as they did. Many were assigned to pray before, during and onsite at the camps. Most of you will not have realised the huge amount of intercession and spiritual warfare that went on in the background that led to the spiritual breakthroughs we experienced at each of the camps. “Thank You” to Suet Ling and Dora for leading the intercessory team.
Lastly, I want to say that I personally appreciate Elder & Chairman Min Chik and Dora for making the effort to be at all the three camps. It was an encouragement and a blessing to me as we stood together to minister to the church.
