30 Nov '08 Shalem Ministry

To introduce you to a new opportunity to receive ministry, Ps Irene Lee, the pastor in-charge of the Healing & Deliverance Ministry at PJEFC (otherwise known as Shalem Ministry) wrote the following:

“In a perfect world we would all be healthy without pain or sickness. However, in a fallen world, we are constantly bombarded with many of life’s problems and issues, suffering and pain that may affect our spirit, soul or body. Our God is a God of compassion and He has placed healing within reach of every person in the hands of His Church.

We need a safe place to help us weather the storms of life, and this safe place is the healing ministry of the Church. A safe place is defined as:

• A place of protection and security for the mind, emotions and spirit
• A place where we can receive the unconditional love from the Lord that goes beyond human touch
• A place where a person can grow strong and healthy towards spiritual maturity
• A place where a person trusts others; assured of total confiden-tiality
• A place where a person is free to express his or her emotions.

PJEFC has provided this place of safety through the Church’s healing ministry called, the Shalem Ministry that is built on the foundation of God’s love and forgiveness. The team members are a group of loving caregivers who will walk and pray along with you to embrace God’s healing according to His Word of life.

We will specially make ourselves available to you every last Sunday of the month, beginning today. We’ll be stationed in the rooms at the “Old Shepherds Lounge” (the room at the front end of the auditorium on the side of the West Wing). Please feel free to come and see us, and no appointments are required.”

There is nothing much more I need to add to what Ps Irene has written here, except to encourage you to open yourself up to the Lord and a couple of members from the ministry team—and see…what the Lord will do.

You’ll be surprised at how much baggage all of us carry around with us. It’s simply a question of whether we want to face up to them or not, and to let the Lord heal us. I believe, that is God’s desire and will for all of us. Won’t you let Him do that for you? Be free and stay free, and enjoy the full life in Christ (Gal 5:1).
