Last Sunday, we learned that, there is an ancient practice in Japan called kintsukuroi, the art repairing cracked pottery with gold, not only fixing it, but also greatly enhancing its value and beauty.
Likewise, all of us are broken in one way or another, yet, we have a Healer, the One who repairs, the One who can fit the broken pieces that no longer seem to fit right into a perfect design. Our Healer works, often behind the scenes, mending, fitting together, creating a better work of art, more than we ever dreamed possible.
So, we don't have to be ashamed, for His grace now shines through every crack and broken space. He makes all things beautiful; especially in the broken. This is what the His story is all about - bringing life to what was broken, and taking on the brokenness of the world in exchange for our freedom, so that we are given a new story to live and to tell.
