Passage: Leviticus 25: 8-22
Service Type:

It is our privilege to open the sermon series on advent with Rev. Dr Daniel Ho. This is the first sermon in the series on Advent. In Leviticus 25: 8-22, God teaches the people of Israel to observe the fiftieth year as a year of Jubilee. The significance of the Jubilee year is that it is a year to reset our lives. It is also a time of redemption as everyone returns to their own property and start with a new beginning. In verses 11, God tells his people not to sow or reap anything in the year of Jubilee as it is holy. If Israel obeys His word, God promised them to have a blessing that will last for the next three years. In 2 Corinthians 5: 17, we learned that in Christ we become a new creation. Our lives are reset and redeemed when we believe in Christ. Therefore, let’s come to Christ and renew our lives and have a wonderful new beginning in the light of God’s word.
