Stretcher-Bearer Dialogue series 2020

WHAT DOES THIS SERIES INVOLVE?
This series consists of bimonthly seminars and dialogues on various mental health issues. All sessions are held on Saturdays, 10.00-11:30am.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS SERIES?
This series aims to provide a safe space to talk about mental health and its various challenges.

WHAT IS THE AIM OF THIS SERIES?
In John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Jesus also said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). The main goal of these sessions is to develop an informed and supportive community, the “stretcher-bearers”, who empowers people to live well in Christ despite trying circumstances. In so doing, this community of “stretcher-bearers” aspires to represent Christ as the Wounded Saviour in whom all human brokenness will find complete restoration, even in situations where physical and/or emotional brokenness persist.

WHO IS THIS SERIES FOR?
This series is open to all regardless of faith. It caters for:
1) anyone with an interest in mental health
2) carers of someone with mental health challenges
3) anyone interested in learning how to recognise and support individuals experiencing mental ill-health

WHEN WILL THIS SERIES COMMENCE?
The first session will take place on 08 Aug 2020. The title of this session is
Being a “Stretcher-Bearer”: Role & Boundary Setting.
